A heartfelt electronic tone poem exploring tragedy & loss

The passion and innovation some artists pour into their projects will never seizes to amaze. On one level, Briana Marela’s You Are A Wave is a grief stricken tone poem expressing the loss of her father. On another, you’ll hear an exploratory electronic adventure. Of course there isn’t a need for separation here: taken as a whole the recording will cocoon you with its daring deep excavation of sonic surgery whilst the machines mimic human emotion in a daring feat of artistry.

Marela’s words appear early in the recording encapsulating her pain, the uncertainty of life, and the finality of death. From this point, the recording becomes a burgeoning outpouring of colours using both her voice, some collaborative work, and the Bucharest 100 system, as used by Pauline Oliveros.

One of the most heartfelt expressions of love, loss, and the determination of the human spirit to endure, you’ll hear this year, or at anytime.
