BURIAL & BLACKDOWN ‘Shock Power Of Love’ EP

A message of love to fill the heart

Is it sacrilegious to not be so keen on Burial’s Untrue? I know, don’t tell the dance heads. It’s odd what a few subtitles can mean and Untrue was a shade too cool and detached for us. And, frustratingly, we can hear the brilliance on a logical level. Oh well, now for something different, because it seems as if William Bevan is missing the communal vibe of the rave. He’s teamed with Blackdown and they’ve dropped a hands in the air sixteen note riff all over Dark Gethsemane coupled with a message of love to fill the heart. It floods the senses with the echo of snapping glow sticks. The other tracks pale in comparison, but Burial is back, and dare we say with the help of Blackdown, better.
