FORAOISÍ GAN INIÚCHADH ‘Isolation’

A shimmering serenade to solitude that’ll kick your butt

We’re going to stick our necks out and say this won’t be used by the Irish board of tourism to attract punters to the Emerald Isle. This ode to isolation will send a chill to your bones as you inevitably visualise yourself hunkered down on an icy godforsaken peninsula. Strangely, Foraoisí gan Iniúchadh, this one-man black metal force from Wexford, explains his second full album extols the virtues of being alone, as well as the burdens. It’s a challenging duality to bear in mind when experiencing this unyielding offering: The Awakening and The Kingdom Will Die could have been recorded by a sinister order of monks all dedicating their lives to the darkest of arts. And, Sixteen is the only soundtrack you’ll need when making a forensic study of a forest floor. A significant release, especially when you learn Tomás Hynes is in his mid-teens! A shimmering serenade to solitude that’ll kick your butt.
