FYI CHRIS ‘Earth Scum’

An essential DIY dancefloor listen

Chrises Coupe & Watson bring their diy dancefloor attitude to a debut album destined for underground classic status. Earth Scum hits a midpoint between bedroom and club listening without loosing any of its edge. On one hand you can imagine No Sun being dropped by Jamie XX, but it’s not all summer hedonism. Scum Of The Earth (feat. Thick Richard) is a walk on the wild side with each line more quotable than the last. A sort of beat laden Arab Strap on a dark day that doesn’t pull its punches – ‘just remember this planet is made of dirt when you call me the scum of the earth’.
