Hypnagogic pop noir to build a city in your mind

Is this hypnagogic pop noir the first AI generated classic? Could the matrix create this level of lo-fi coolness? Unlikely, as helen island is the project of Paris-based Léopold Collin, who was previously active as Trigger Moral; therefore the journey to last liasse has been there for those who know.

A Satie like tinkling of the ivories, a languorous beat topped with saccharine processed vocals, and we could be winding our way round the city of love at twilight. Maybe it’s a faded facsimile of Did you Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, or an alt soundtrack to Les Amants du Pont-Neuf. And, yet, with only minimal psychedelic trappings, this could be the trippiest release you’ll hear this year, transcending physical location, to build a city in your mind.
