IO AUDIO RECORDINGS ‘Awaiting The Elliptical Drift’

Arcane rituals & psychedelic overdrive

Loop may be back with a renewed spring in their psych-rock step, but don’t let your exploration of the scene end there. Set your launch pad controls for Orange in California and you’ll discover io audio recordings’ own brand of baked goods. Both acts share the thrill of kosmische, however, the weight of Loop’s guitar-centric tendencies can keep them earthbound, and IAR propel themselves into an higher orbit employing all manner of spacial trickery.

Guitars do receive ample elbow room on IAR’s new EP, but don’t dominate. The benefit of sitars, and skilfully crafted drones, are equally significant to these complex arrangements. And, who can resist a tolling bell? Just rid yourself of any last vestiges of logical thought whilst arcane rituals and alien lifeforms abound. This will sate any appetite for psychedelic overdrive.
