Plenty of artists have crafted a club banger with a backbone of DnB or techno. And, many of us will sing-a-long to a crossover hit imbued with melancholic lyrical magic. But, walking a fine line between the two, and not losing the emotional heft of either, is another thing altogether. Look no further, JEWELSSEA has unleashed a scattershot of compelling beats laced with distilled words of love lost and confidence gained. Drawing on a career already steeped in production, writing, and club duties, the Philly based JEWELSSEA has employed her considerable experience to showcase just how malleable dance sub-genres are in her hands. As with many a debut, there’s a free flow of ideas propelled by a clamour to make a mark. And, whilst Dwelling isn’t a mould breaker, you’ll be reminded of why you fell for jungle and breakbeat in the first place. Get your headphones on and feel the thud and thrill of Destination Unknown and Reassurance.
Then again, this is not solely a percussive journey, as these spicy beats are embellished with deft melodic motifs, enabling them to transcend the dancefloor and sit in your heart and head.
