Lo fi rave & quivering breakbeats

Opening with a track called Avant Garde Challenge may sound like a statement of intent, but this Seoul based beat maker sets her own parameters, and judgement should only be attempted after full immersion. At first, Koreography can feel like an EP of irreverent, cheesy tracks, with a homemade club vibe, throwing any listener off the scent. Then consider Leevisa felt it necessary to write her own obituary before this release, and listen again. We sense a ‘fuck everything, this is who I am’ energy underlining her declaration that this release is a tool for positive change, and saved her life. Several more listens in, and we’re hooked on the its lo fi rave, and quivering breakbeats, all doing more than enough to distance itself from any common dance tropes. Finally, delving into Leevisa’s back catalogue will throw you into another feast of discovery.
