LUNGFISH ‘Love Is Love’

The mighty Discord Records reissue a cult classic

The mighty Discord Records reissue Lungfish’s Love Is Love, the group’s tenth album from 2003. At this stage a criticism of being samey had been levelled at the Baltimore punks more than once. For the believers this was part of the appeal. A large part of the attraction was frontman Daniel Higgs and his mercurial wordplay. Already well seasoned in the local hardcore scene before Lungfish started, Higgs was also a presence at open mic spoken word nights. Coupled with his Jim Morrison like ‘on the edge’ stage performances the group maintained a strong following. Higgs has gone on to record solo material, explore the visual arts, and publish his own poetry.
