MARLOWE ‘Marlowe 3’

Agile bars and soul soaked production

Ever had that sinking feeling when you realise one of your fave acts just passed through town, and you missed them? We messed up big time last year not seeing Marlowe. And, this was whilst we were giving Solemn Brigham’s solo outing South Sinner Street some serious airtime! So, with pangs of regret still in our stomachs, this is the medicine we need: Brigham reunites once more with L’Orange to drop the duo’s third outing.

In contrast to L’Orange’s epic work with Kool Keith, Mr. Lif, and Jeremiah Jae, here they find a different marriage of groove, beats, and street hustle. Welcoming several guests, and yet, still retaining their favoured core sound, marrying Brigham’s agile bars to L’Orange’s soul sampling production, this is distilled talent.

Like the evolution of Marlowe’s cover artwork, refinements may be subtle, but on current evidence, these guys prove once more why they are a significant piece of the hip hop puzzle.
