THE DIFFERENCE MACHINE ‘Unmasking The Spirit Fakers’

Aug 12, 2022 | Hip Hop, Reviews

Delve into this densely packed auditory delight, and you’ll find it the finest hip hop to lose your mind to

The Difference Machine’s slamming third full length album is loaded with heavyweight guests, and is loosely based on an essay by Harry Houdini, the master magician. Listen out for lyrical contributions from Sa-Roc, Homeboy Sandboy and Quelle Chris on this magic carpet ride of an album.

Unmasking the Spirit Fakers finds the Atlanta-based psychedelic hip hop outfit examining the motives and practices of those who attempt to provide cure-alls and treatments for spiritual ills. Of course, the parallels with contemporary life are countless, but the group don’t aim to be explicit with who the fakers are. However, delve into this densely packed auditory delight, and you’ll find it the finest hip hop to lose your mind to.
