Welcome to Transmission Overload

Oct 22, 2023 | Features

Let’s try and lift the lid on cutting edge creativity, from the most emotionally charged noise artists, to the beat culture of a city near you.

Hi, we’re Transmission Overload, a multi-genre celebration of our wondrous musical scene. We were born in the pandemic as a way to make contact with like minded souls, and now, we’re relishing every moment we spend gigging, supporting independent retailers, bigging up record labels, and shouting about artists of many kinds.

We’re mad about exploring what is occurring in the margins, and what makes our scene tick. What is happening in Newcastle, Australia? Providence, Rhode Island? Kampala, Uganda? Or, just down the road in our own musical playground called Bristol.

Why does music elicit such powerful feelings in us? Why is genre important? And, why is it irrelevant? What is experimental music? And, what do we understand improvisation to be. There’s an overload of it out there, and we’ll keep digging for insight, and mind-blowing examples.

Let’s try and lift the lid on cutting edge creativity, from the most emotionally charged noise artists, to the beat culture of a city near you.

Keep the faith,

T.O. Team
